Scott J. Schwertfager

Scott J. Schwertfager is President and Chief Executive Officer and serves as a member of the Board of Directors. Scott has over 30 years in the telecom industry with 20 years specifically in the submarine cable system industry. Most recently, he was the VP of Business Development with Hawaiki Cable (a trans-Pacific cable system) and was responsible for pre-sales and securing a US landing party, co-location and backhaul agreements. Previous to Hawaiki, Scott was a founder and COO of Emerald Networks, while there he was instrumental in the funding and overall development of the Emerald Express trans-Atlantic submarine cable system. During his telecom career Scott also held senior level positions with AT&T, TE Subcom and Corning (NSW) where he was Director of Transmission Engineering. He has been directly involved in dozens of submarine cable system installations and repair operations globally. Scott attended Pace University (White Plains, NY) where he studied Business Management and Queens College (Charlotte, NC) where he studied Computer Science. In addition, he completed formal training programs from AT&T Bell Labs in cable system engineering and fiber-optic technologies (Georgia Tech, Morristown, NJ & Eatontown, NJ).
